Standardized tools. Qualified clinicians. Plain language.
Every Brighters assessment follows the same principle: a validated instrument, interpreted by a qualified professional, explained in a way that actually helps you decide what to do next. And it doesn't stop at the report โ we stay with your family through annual reassessment.
Five things every assessment is built on
Qualified professionals
Assessments are administered and interpreted by appropriately qualified psychologists.
Established instruments
We use standardized, evidence-based assessment tools appropriate to the question being evaluated.
Clinician judgement matters
Scores never make decisions on their own. Your clinician considers your child's history, context and assessment findings together.
Independent by design
Brighters does not provide therapy. Our only focus is assessment, so every recommendation is about what your child needs.
Supporting progress over time
As your child grows and receives support, their strengths and needs may change. We recommend reassessment about once a year to track progress, understand how current therapies are working, and keep recommendations relevant.
Our reports are written so your child's therapists and school can use them, and we never take over their role.
From questions to a clear plan โ in five steps
A standardized, clinician-led process that makes high-quality assessment more accessible โ from home, wherever you are.

Complete the assessment
Meet your psychologist online for the assessment itself โ a mix of a conversation with you, guided tasks with your child, and rating forms for parents and teachers to complete.
Your psychologist reviews the complete picture
Your psychologist interprets the assessment results alongside your child's developmental history and other relevant information.
Understand the results
Meet your psychologist on another video call to understand what it means for your child, with a clear report and practical next steps.
This isn't a one-time report
A single assessment gives you a snapshot. It doesn't tell you whether your child's support plan is actually working, or whether something new needs attention six months from now โ and we don't think a family should be left to figure that out alone. That's why the Strengths & Support Needs Assessment exists specifically to be repeatable, and why every assessment your child completes is saved to a Progress dashboard your family can return to.
Annual reassessment
We recommend most children return for a reassessment about once a year โ sooner if your clinician advises it โ so you always have an up-to-date picture, not just where they started.
A picture that builds over time
Your child's Progress dashboard keeps every assessment in one place, so you and your clinician can see the full trajectory, not just one point.
Guidance on what's next
Every feedback conversation includes practical recommendations for home, school and professional support โ not just a score.
How we handle your information
Your child's information is handled with the same care as any clinical record, and your child's reports stay within the care process โ used only by you and your clinician, except where legally required.
Encrypted and secure
Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest using industry-standard security practices.
Stays within your care
Your child's reports are used only by you and your clinician, except where legally required.
