What brings parents to us
Every child develops differently. An assessment can be helpful when you want a clearer, standardized picture of how your child manages everyday life. These are simply common reasons parents come to us for a clearer picture.
- โYour child already has a diagnosis, but you want a clearer picture of their current strengths and support needs
- โYou want to know whether your child is making meaningful progress โ not simply attending school and therapy
- โYou want an objective baseline that can help guide decisions at home, school or with professionals
- โYou want a clear, standardized picture of where your child is โ not just reassurance
- โYour child has been assessed before, and you want to understand what has actually changed since then
Is your child making real progress?
Therapy sessions, school attendance and completed goals tell you what your child has been doing. A standardized assessment helps you understand whether their everyday abilities are changing too.
If your child has a previous comparable assessment, your psychologist can review what has changed over time. If this is their first assessment, it creates a standardized baseline that can support meaningful comparison in the future.

Complete the assessment
Meet your psychologist online for the assessment itself โ a mix of a conversation with you, guided tasks with your child, and rating forms for parents and teachers to complete.
Your psychologist reviews the complete picture
Your psychologist interprets the assessment results alongside your child's developmental history and other relevant information.
Understand the results
Meet your psychologist on another video call to understand what it means for your child, with a clear report and practical next steps.
Online does not mean a lesser test
We use established, standardized instruments that are designed to be completed through a clinician-led interview or structured rating forms. They work the same way on a video call as they do in a clinic.
Vineland-3
Vineland Adaptive Behavior Scales, Third Edition
A widely used international measure of everyday skills across communication, daily living and socialization. Your psychologist completes it through a structured interview with you, so your child does not need to be on camera.
- โA live psychologist, not an app. Every assessment is led by a qualified psychologist in a live video session. Nothing is an unsupervised online quiz, and no score decides anything on its own.
- โThe same instruments, scored the same way. These are interview and rating-scale instruments. They are completed by asking and listening, so the questions and the scoring are the same whether you are in a clinic or at home.
- โHonest about the limits. If something cannot be judged well enough over video, your psychologist will tell you and recommend an in-person step rather than guess.
What online makes easier for your family
Less hassle for your family
No travel, no waiting rooms and no long trip to a clinic. You join from home, at a time you book.
Easier for your child
Many children are more at ease at home than in an unfamiliar clinic, which makes the session calmer for them and for you.
Seen in a familiar place
Your psychologist observes your child in their own space, with their own toys and routine, which can give a more natural picture of how they play and interact.
Available across India
You do not need to live near a specialist centre. With a stable internet connection and a quiet space, you can be assessed from wherever you are.
A conversation with you, not an assessment of your child directly
This assessment works through a structured caregiver interview โ your psychologist asks you about your child's day-to-day communication, daily living skills and socialization, and scores a standardized instrument based on your answers.
Typical duration
90 to 120 minutes in total, for all the assessments your child needs
Platform
Google Meet โ no download needed, just a browser
Who's present
You and your psychologist โ your child doesn't need to join
Sessions
Usually completed in one session
How to be ready for your session
- โFind a quiet, private space with minimal distractions for the video call
- โUse a laptop or tablet with a stable internet connection and a working camera and microphone
- โSince this is an interview about your child's everyday routines, it helps to have recent, typical examples in mind โ how they handle getting dressed, mealtimes, chores, or time with friends
- โComplete any intake or developmental history forms beforehand, so session time is spent on the interview itself
What makes a Brighters assessment different
- ๐ฑ
Strength-based and child-centred
We look at your child's strengths as well as the areas where they may need support โ not just a diagnosis or score.
- ๐ง
Clinician-led, not algorithm-led
Standardized assessment tools support the process, but an experienced psychologist interprets the complete picture and makes the recommendations.
- ๐ก
Clear recommendations you can use
We explain what the findings mean and provide practical next steps for home, school and professional support.
- ๐
Designed for access from home
Assessments are delivered online wherever clinically appropriate, so families can access experienced professionals without needing to travel.
- ๐งญ
We stay with you after the report
Your assessment becomes a baseline, and we recommend returning for a reassessment about once a year so you always know how your child is progressing โ not just where they started. Every report is saved to your child's Progress dashboard, building a complete picture over time.
