Terms of Service

Last updated 13 October 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

By submitting a request through this website or using your Brighters account, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use this site.

2. Who can use Brighters

This service is for parents and legal guardians requesting a developmental, autism, or ADHD assessment for their child. By submitting a request, you're confirming you are the child's parent or legal guardian and are yourself at least 18 years old — the same attestation you make when checking the consent boxes on the request form.

Children do not use this platform directly and do not have their own accounts.

3. What this service is — and isn't

Brighters connects you with our care team to arrange a standardized, clinician-administered assessment, and gives you a dashboard to view your child's released reports and track progress over time.

Submitting a request is not a booking or a guarantee of a specific appointment time — our care team follows up to confirm the right assessment and next steps. Assessment scores inform, but never replace, a qualified clinician's judgment.

A Brighters report is an assessment report written by a qualified psychologist. It is not a standalone medical diagnosis and is not medical advice, and it does not replace an in-person medical or specialist evaluation where one is needed. Your clinician may tell you that a different or additional evaluation, including an in-person one, would be more appropriate for your child.

A Brighters report gives clinical, behavioural and educational guidance for parents, teachers and therapists. It is not a government disability certificate (such as a UDID card) and is not a substitute for any certificate, assessment or concession that the law or an examination board requires to be issued after an in-person examination by a prescribed authority. Please check what a school, board or government office requires before relying on a report for that purpose.

This service is not an emergency or crisis service. If your child is in immediate danger or at risk of harming themselves, please call 112 or go to the nearest hospital emergency department. You can also reach Childline on 1098 or Tele-MANAS on 14416.

4. How online sessions work

Assessment sessions take place by video call (Google Meet), run by your clinician, using standardized instruments suited to remote use. For the session to work well you will need a stable internet connection, a quiet space, and a parent or guardian present with your child throughout. Some children and some questions are better assessed in person, and if your clinician finds that to be true for your child, they will tell you.

Please do not record, screenshot or share a session, or share its video link with anyone else, without our permission. Your clinician may pause or end a session early if it is not working for your child or the connection is too poor to continue, and will arrange a follow-up where needed.

5. Your account

You sign in to Brighters with your mobile number, using a one-time code we send you by SMS. Please keep your phone and your sessions secure, and tell us promptly if you lose access to your number.

You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit, and for keeping access to your account and any device or session it's tied to reasonably secure.

6. Bookings, changes and cancellations

You can change the time of, or cancel, your free guidance call yourself from your booking page, any time before the call. For an assessment or feedback session, email us at the support address below and we'll help you change the time or cancel. Please tell us as early as you can, so that the time can be offered to another family.

When you book, we text you a confirmation, and a reminder shortly before your session. These are service messages about your booking, and by booking you agree to receive them by SMS and email. We do not use these messages for marketing.

7. Content you provide

If you upload a previous assessment, school, or therapy report, you confirm you have the right to share it with us and that it's accurate to the best of your knowledge. We use it only to support your child's assessment and care.

8. AI-assisted tools

At signup, you can optionally consent to let us use your child's assessment data to help develop and improve Brighters' own AI-assisted tools. This is entirely separate from, and never a condition of, receiving an assessment — declining it doesn't affect your child's care. See our Privacy Policy for what this consent covers and how to withdraw it.

9. Intellectual property

The Brighters name, logo, website, software and report templates remain the property of Brighters. The assessment instruments we use belong to their respective owners or publishers and are used under the terms that apply to each; nothing here transfers any rights in them to you. Your child's individual report belongs to you to use for their care.

10. Limitation of liability

We take reasonable care in how we administer and interpret assessments, but we cannot guarantee any particular outcome or conclusion. Brighters and its clinicians are not liable for decisions made by you or by third parties, such as schools or other clinics, based on a report, beyond what applicable law requires.

Video sessions depend on your internet connection and on third-party services such as Google Meet and SMS delivery. We are not liable for interruptions or delays outside our reasonable control, and we will work with you to reschedule or complete a session that was affected. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

11. Ending your access

You can stop using Brighters at any time, and can request that your account and data be deleted (see our Privacy Policy for how). We may suspend or end access to accounts that misuse the platform or violate these terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka will have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, without affecting any right you have under applicable consumer or data protection law.

13. Questions or concerns

For questions about bookings, changes or cancellations, email support@brighters.com. For anything related to these terms or your data, reach us at grievance@brighters.com, or through our Contact Us page.

14. General

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies. These terms and our Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and Brighters about this service.

15. Changes to these terms

We'll update this page when the service changes, and update the "last updated" date above when we do.
