A structured ADHD assessment for your child
Our ADHD assessment is for children aged 6 and up. It combines parent and teacher rating scales with a clinician interview to understand attention, activity levels, impulse control, and how they affect daily life โ not a single checklist score.
Free initial consultation with our care team โ no obligation.
What brings parents to us
Every child has moments of restlessness or distraction โ that alone doesn't mean ADHD. These are simply common reasons parents come to us for a clearer picture.
- โFinds it hard to sit still, wait their turn, or stay in their seat
- โGets distracted easily or struggles to finish tasks and schoolwork
- โActs without thinking about consequences
- โA teacher has raised concerns about attention or behavior in class
- โSchoolwork doesn't reflect how capable your child seems to be at home
From questions to a clear plan โ in five steps
A standardized, clinician-led process that makes high-quality assessment more accessible โ from home, wherever you are.

Complete the assessment
Meet your psychologist online for the assessment itself โ a mix of a conversation with you, guided tasks with your child, and rating forms for parents and teachers to complete.
Your psychologist reviews the complete picture
Your psychologist interprets the assessment results alongside your child's developmental history and other relevant information.
Understand the results
Meet your psychologist on another video call to understand what it means for your child, with a clear report and practical next steps.
Online does not mean a lesser test
We use established, standardized instruments that are designed to be completed through a clinician-led interview or structured rating forms. They work the same way on a video call as they do in a clinic.
Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt ADHD Diagnostic Rating Scales
Widely used in paediatric practice, with a parent version and a teacher version, so your psychologist sees how your child is doing at home and at school.
INDT-ADHD
INCLEN Diagnostic Tool for ADHD
A structured ADHD interview developed and tested in India, completed by your psychologist with you.
- โA live psychologist, not an app. Every assessment is led by a qualified psychologist in a live video session. Nothing is an unsupervised online quiz, and no score decides anything on its own.
- โThe same instruments, scored the same way. These are interview and rating-scale instruments. They are completed by asking and listening, so the questions and the scoring are the same whether you are in a clinic or at home.
- โHonest about the limits. If something cannot be judged well enough over video, your psychologist will tell you and recommend an in-person step rather than guess.
What online makes easier for your family
Less hassle for your family
No travel, no waiting rooms and no long trip to a clinic. You join from home, at a time you book.
Easier for your child
Many children are more at ease at home than in an unfamiliar clinic, which makes the session calmer for them and for you.
Seen in a familiar place
Your psychologist observes your child in their own space, with their own toys and routine, which can give a more natural picture of how they play and interact.
Available across India
You do not need to live near a specialist centre. With a stable internet connection and a quiet space, you can be assessed from wherever you are.
A live session with you, your child, and your psychologist
Your ADHD assessment combines a caregiver conversation about attention, activity levels and behavior with time your clinician spends interacting with your child directly, alongside the parent and teacher rating scales.
Typical duration
90 to 120 minutes in total, for all the assessments your child needs
Platform
Google Meet โ no download needed, just a browser
Who's present
You and your child, for different parts of the session
Sessions
Usually one session; sometimes more
How much of the session your child engages with on the day varies โ if more time would give a clearer picture, your clinician will suggest a second session rather than rushing to a conclusion.
How to be ready for your session
- โFind a quiet, private space with minimal distractions for the video call
- โUse a laptop or tablet with a stable internet connection and a working camera and microphone
- โComplete the parent (and, where relevant, teacher) rating scales beforehand, so live session time is spent talking with your clinician rather than filling out forms
- โWhen your clinician wants to interact with your child directly, you're welcome to step out of frame if that helps your child settle โ this is your and your clinician's call, made together during the session
- โHave any recent school reports or teacher feedback handy in case they're useful to reference
What your report covers
A clear picture of your child's attention and behaviour
Your assessment brings together parent and teacher rating scales, your child's developmental and school history, and your clinician's conversation with you and your child.
Your clinician interprets these together to give you a clear, balanced understanding of how your child is doing at home and at school, and what the findings mean in everyday life.
Your report includes:
A clear clinical summary
What the assessment findings mean for your child, explained in straightforward language.
Strengths and areas for support
A balanced picture of how your child is doing day to day, and where attention, activity or behaviour may need support.
Relevant history and context
Developmental history, school feedback and your concerns are considered alongside the assessment findings.
Practical recommendations
Clear, individualised next steps for home, school and, where appropriate, therapy or other professional support.
What this assessment doesn't cover. This assessment focuses on ADHD-related attention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. It is not a full cognitive, learning or autism evaluation. If other concerns emerge, the psychologist may recommend an additional assessment rather than inferring those abilities from this one.
The exact report structure and content will vary depending on the assessment your child receives.
What makes a Brighters assessment different
- ๐ฑ
Strength-based and child-centred
We look at your child's strengths as well as the areas where they may need support โ not just a diagnosis or score.
- ๐ง
Clinician-led, not algorithm-led
Standardized assessment tools support the process, but an experienced psychologist interprets the complete picture and makes the recommendations.
- ๐ก
Clear recommendations you can use
We explain what the findings mean and provide practical next steps for home, school and professional support.
- ๐
Designed for access from home
Assessments are delivered online wherever clinically appropriate, so families can access experienced professionals without needing to travel.
- ๐งญ
We stay with you after the report
Your assessment becomes a baseline, and we recommend returning for a reassessment about once a year so you always know how your child is progressing โ not just where they started. Every report is saved to your child's Progress dashboard, building a complete picture over time.
